Pilgrim is a dual purpose variety 'high hop'. Bred at the Hop Research Institute of Wye College, it has the same father as First Gold and Herald.
It has performed well as a replacement for other dual hops. It is often compared to Target because of its alpha acid levels.
However, higher levels of Humulene and Selinen levels comparable to Challenger give Pilgrim a much hoppier aroma.
From early storage trials, stability of the alpha acids in Pilgrim seems to be excellent.
