GUIDELINES

We will be having 4 competitions per year (quarterly comps) which gives brewers about 3 months to brew.

Each competition will be limited to certain styles of beers to make the judging more competitive and ensure a bourbon barrel aged barleywine is not judged against a Kolsch or Pilsner

All beers will be judged and scored with the BJCP scoresheet, however, this is not a BJCP sanctioned competition. (This is for fun!)

Professional brewers and/or BJCP judges will be judging the beers and will be available at the awards and tasting ceremony if you have questions about comments or scores.

Please include your name and the name of your beer attached with a rubber band to your bottles to help us organize the judging.

During judging, all names will be removed from bottles and hidden from judges to prevent bias scores.

Hop Craft employees are not involved in judging, beers are judged by professional, commercial brewers and BJCP judges.

1st, 2nd and 3rd place will receive prizes. Brewers will also vote for a brewers choice award. Prizes will change every quarter and more prizes may be added during each comp.

All brewers will be allowed to submit and enter two different brews for each competition. Please label your beers with your name and the name of the beer.

Please drop off 2 bottles of each beer for judging. For the awards ceremony / tasting event we recommend brewers bring 3 or 4 bottles to share.

If you can't attend the awards ceremony, feel free to drop off a couple extra bottles for the tasting and brewer's choice voting.
